Technical considerations when sending us your images:
When creating pictures, it's important to keep a few things in mind:
- Pictures that look good on the screen can still look "chunky" when
printed. A good test is to print your designs on a laser printer. If it
looks "jaggy" scaled to the size you want it - it will look jaggy when we
print it too.
- JPG's, GIF's and BMP's are the three file formats we currently support
for uploaded pictures.
- JPG's are best for photos and pictures with lots of colors and smooth
color transitions. JPG is terrible for text, straight-lines, and solid
colors. JPG has a user controllable "compression" setting also. We
recommend setting compression as low as possible (larger file, better
quality).
- GIF's are best for text and pictures with straight lines and solid
colors. GIF's reduce the colors in photos which might result in distorted
images for photos.
Rule of thumb: Text and solid colors = GIF. Photos = JPG.
