Technical considerations when sending us your images:

When creating pictures, it's important to keep a few things in mind:

  1. Pictures that look good on the screen can still look "chunky" when printed. A good test is to print your designs on a laser printer. If it looks "jaggy" scaled to the size you want it - it will look jaggy when we print it too.
  2. JPG's, GIF's and BMP's are the three file formats we currently support for uploaded pictures.
  3. JPG's are best for photos and pictures with lots of colors and smooth color transitions. JPG is terrible for text, straight-lines, and solid colors. JPG has a user controllable "compression" setting also. We recommend setting compression as low as possible (larger file, better quality).
  4. GIF's are best for text and pictures with straight lines and solid colors. GIF's reduce the colors in photos which might result in distorted images for photos.

Rule of thumb: Text and solid colors = GIF. Photos = JPG.
