We accept most image file formats.  For example:  TIF, PCX, BMP, PDF, JPEG, GIF, ... and we can print from some native PC programs like word processing files photo imaging program files.    We may have to work with you on font matching for some programs, but we like to think we can make a photo of whatever you can put on your computer screen.  ( We can even translate some MAC files.)

For example we have partnered with CAM Development to be able to print directly from their program(s) files.  (see press release)

JPEG is the most common file type for us to receive due to its wide use in digital cameras and due to its compression it travels over the internet more economically.  If you use JPEG, please save your JPEG files with low compression and high quality settings.   Larger print sizes like 5x7's and 8x10's generally require higher resolution files for sharp results. Please follow the recommendations offered below giving image resolutions desired for different print sizes.

Other issues:

  1. Image Scaling: One must understand how well the image fits the size print  ordered.  Our system automatically enlarges or reduces your image as needed to fit the size print you selected.  This image scaling is done uniformly so the image does not become distorted.  If the image does not scale uniformly to the size you order, then some of the image must be cropped to fit and fill the size selected.  Our system defaults to crop your image on center to fit the print size ordered.  ( If you want no cropping to occur, this must be communicated on the print order form.)
  2. Print colors will be similar to the colors you see on your screen.  Color matching is available as an optional service if we are provided an example of what to match.
  3. Brightness, contrast, touch-ups, color correction, and sizing should all be done before sending any image files.  ( Although, we do offer these services on a quote request basis.)
